New Year"s concert of the city music band Wilten

The New Year"s concert of the city culture will be held on January 24, 2025 in the city hall by the city music band Wilten. City Music Band Wilten

The name of the City Music Band Wilten is derived from the oldest district of Innsbruck, Wilten, located in the south of the city, at the foot of the historic and traditional Bergisel. In old documents of the Wilten monastery, the year of birth of the Music Band Wilten is documented as 1650 - back then as one of the parish music groups formed at that time. At the burial of Andreas Hofer in 1823, there were only 13 musicians, whereas today the ensemble comprises around 65 musicians.

The band experienced a great upswing after World War II. It became known at home and abroad and was formed into a symphonic wind orchestra. Since 2020, conductor Raimund Walder has been at the conductor"s stand of the "Wiltener".
The Wiltener Academy was established a few years ago as an institution that is intended to be groundbreaking for its own association work as well as for the development of wind music in the country.
